ADDA has received a $9,300 grant from @AARPLivable for a new interpretive exhibit, an African American culture and heritage library, and a walking tour map between @MortonTheatre & @LHArtsC! The map will tell stories of Black Athenians from the Civil War to the early 1900s.

Athens Music Walk of Fame
Athens Cultural Affairs Commission, ADDA, and Athens-Clarke County Public Works will launch the Athens Music Walk of Fame to honor Athens musicians and bands in the summer of 2020. The first ten honorees will be announced in June. Artist Allen Sutton will design the plaques.

The Small Business Administration is providing federal emergency loans via the CARES Act for small businesses affected by COVID 19.

The Athens Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), the Classic Center, and the Classic Center Foundation have unveiled a new matching grant program dedicated to the development of new tourism products and experiences that will attract new overnight visitors to Athens-Clarke County.

Athens-Clarke County Central Services will be removing some trees in the downtown area due to damage and/or disease. A schedule for the removal of these trees is not currently available, but Central Services will post a sign on trees designated for removal several days in advance.
