Ishues, known as Ishmeal Cuthbertson, is a hip-hop artist born in Washington D.C. he moved all around the northeastern U.S. before setting up shop in Athens, GA.

Cuthbertson started performing in Athens in 1997 with the band The Real MCs. Shortly after in 2000, he became a solo artist known as Ishues. In 2003 Attica Sounds signed him and formed the label around him due to how established his music was. Later he released two albums and two mixtapes between 2004 and 2009. He released these albums while playing shows from Athens to Africa. Later in 2009, Ishues went on a break to focus on growing his family and faith.

During this hiatus, Cuthbertson worked as a social worker, also mentoring youth and teaching boxing. His break officially ended in 2019 with the release of “The Bitter Pill.” Since then, he has released an LP called “ISHUES The Anti-Rapper,” and a collaboration EP with Amun Ra called “P.E.A.C.E.”
